Vamana
Therapeutic emesis
Elimination of toxins through controlled, medicated vomiting.
Only when extremely necessary

A classical, medically supervised purification of body and mind — personalised to your constitution and guided by Dr. Sudhindra Uppoor's gut-first philosophy.
From 'pancha' (five) and 'karma' (action), Panchakarma is the set of classical cleansing therapies for deep purification of body and mind — with roots in Ayurvedic texts as old as 400 BC.
This is not a quick juice cleanse or a trend-based detox. It is a complete, classical cleansing science — and it is never one-size-fits-all. Each programme is shaped around your unique body, your digestion and your imbalances, so the purification works gently, safely and from the root.

Residential suites for deep, supervised renewal
“Panchakarma is not a quick cleanse or a trend-based detox. It is Ayurveda's time-tested method of deep internal purification — physical, mental and emotional — restoring the body's natural strength and the true balance of body, mind and spirit.”
Pancha (five) and karma (action) — five precise methods of eliminating accumulated toxins. At Ayurshree, three of them form the heart of every programme.
Therapeutic emesis
Elimination of toxins through controlled, medicated vomiting.
Only when extremely necessary
Purgation
Elimination of toxins through medicated purgation.
Nasal therapy
Elimination through the nasal route — in Ayurveda, the nostrils are the gateway to the brain.
Bloodletting
Elimination of toxins through controlled blood letting.
Only when extremely necessary
Medicated enema
Elimination through the anal route — and the planting of a healthy gut microbiome.
At Ayurshree, Dr. Uppoor adopts three safe procedures — Virechana, Nasyam and Basti. The remaining two are performed only when extremely necessary, after individual consultation.
Every cleanse unfolds across three carefully sequenced stages — preparing the body, performing the purification, and protecting the results.
Abhyangam (Ayurvedic oil therapy), internal lubrication with medicated ghee and Swedana (steam) gently loosen the toxins lodged deep within the tissues, readying them for safe elimination.
The chosen purification therapies — Virechana, Nasyam and Basti — safely flush the loosened toxins from the body.
The crucial final stage. For at least a week, a special Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle let the body rebuild and the newly seeded gut microbiome take root — without it, the benefits of Panchakarma are quickly lost.
Post-care is not optional — it is crucial
Pashchatakarma is where the cleanse is sealed. Without at least a week of the special diet and lifestyle that follows, the deep benefits of Panchakarma are quickly lost.
One of the most respected therapies, Basti — a herbal enema — plants the seeds of a healthy microbiome in the gut, helping it rejuvenate from within.
A calm, structured rhythm of daily diagnosis, hands-on therapy and supervised diet — guided by your physician from start to finish.
Meeting the Ayurveda doctor every day for pulse (Naadi) and tongue (Jihva) analysis.
Around 2½ hours of Ayurvedic therapies daily — in one sitting or split into two sessions.
A specific, supervised Ayurvedic diet throughout the programme.
Gut cleanse with oral medicated ghee, full-body oleation with herbal oils, and guided elimination of toxins.
Medicated enemas (Basti) to nourish the gut microbiome and restore vitality.
Programme Duration
7, 14 or 21 days
A minimum of seven days, extendable to fourteen or twenty-one — your physician sets the length to match your condition and goals.
Far beyond a detox — a renewal of digestion, immunity, skin, vitality and the calm balance of body and mind.

Every journey begins with Naadi Pariksha
Panchakarma is never one-size-fits-all. Every plan is crafted around your Prakriti (the constitution you are born with) and your Vikriti (your present imbalances), along with your age, digestion, lifestyle and health needs — which is why a consultation and Naadi Pariksha with Dr. Uppoor always comes first.
Prakriti
The constitution you are born with — your unique, unchanging blueprint of balance.
Vikriti
Your present imbalances — what has shifted, and what the cleanse is designed to restore.
The things people most often ask before beginning their cleanse — answered honestly.
No. Panchakarma is generally a gentle and soothing process. Some procedures may involve mild discomfort, but they are entirely safe and medically supervised.
Every Panchakarma journey begins with a consultation and Naadi Pariksha with Dr. Sudhindra Uppoor. Book yours, and let your programme be crafted entirely around you.
